Autumn Shadow and Light I passed this street many times on my way to art school and it just looked like an ordinary street. However, on this one particular day, because of the color and the contrast of the light and shadows, it became something special. |

Come into the Garden I've never really liked winter because of the cold, the dangerous driving and not having very many places to go. That's probably why I don't have that many winter paintings. What I like to do is paint something that reminds me of summer as I have done here. |

Autumn in the Suburbs This painting tries to capture a perfect autumn day last fall. It was taken on a street near my local park but everywhere I went that day was just as beautiful. |

Cascading Roses A neighbor down the block from me has these roses growing on her fence. Most of the year, it looks like a plain fence with maybe some leaves. However, for about a week in June, it turns into this magnificant display of roses. |

Garden With Tulips and Wisteria This is a neighbor's yard in mid-April. You really have to take your reference photos of wisteria very quickly because they don't last very long. |

Blue House in Winter For the last few years, it hasn't snowed very much around here. However, last year we had quite a bit of snow and I took advantage of it by taking a lot of photographs. This particular street is diagonally across the street from were I live and I've taken many photographs of it (usually to use up the end of a roll of film). I finally took advantage of one of these shots. |

Flower Pots Hanging On A Fence These flower pots are hanging on the outside of this fence for the enjoyment of the passersby. |

Clematis on a Picket Fence I saw these flowers tracing a delicate design on the fence while my husband and I were on our way to buy gas just before going food shopping. I didn't have time to stop then (I didn't even have my camera) but I came back the next day, which luckily was also sunny, and was able to get the pictures I needed to make this painting. |

Carriage Lamp Sometimes you have to take a fresh look at something in order to see it. The day that I took the photograph that became the source for this painting, I had parked my car a few feet away from this house. Two hours later I decided to call it a day. I still had a couple of pictures left on the roll and to finish it, I decided to take another look at the houses on the block where I had parked. It was only then that I saw this charming little garden |

Weeping Cherry My husband and I walk every day. Every spring, we pass this beautiful Weeping Cherry Tree which is in front of a nearby elementary school. The blossoms only last a short time, but this year I decided to capture its beauty forever. |

Winter White For some reason, there hasn't been a lot of snow here in New Jersey for several years. However, last year it snowed several times and I was able to take quite a few reference photographs. The interesting thing about this painting is that I actually finished it last April but I didn't like it. It didn't seem to have the intensity that I wanted. However, a couple of weeks ago, I took it out and decided to try painting on it again. Sometimes I think that it's better to leave something for a while. |

Flower Pots and a Flower Barrel The reflections in the window made this scene particularly interesting to me. |

Dappled Fence I took the photograph for this painging several years ago but never got around to doing it until recently. What I found interesting in this particular scene, is the contrast of shadows and light along the fence. |

Magnolia Because I work from photographs, I can work on my paintings regardless of the weather. I remember working on this painting on a day I had to stay home from work because of a bad storm and brought back memories of a beautiful day in spring. |

Back Yard With Flower Pots I like this painting because, although the shapes are very simple, there is a strong feeling of sunlight which makes me feel like its summer no matter what the season is. |

Clouds of Spring Although the majority of my paintings are done from places near where I live, this painting is a scene in upstate New York where my husband and I were attending a cousin's club meeting. The flowering trees with white flowers that appear in early spring remind me of clouds, hence the name of this painting. |

House on the Hill I was told that this house was the first house in my neighborhood and the owners of this house owned all the surrounding land. Although the land is built up now, it still sits on its hill surveying all the land around it. |

Blazing Ivy My husband wanted to come with me the day I decided to photograph the fall foliage in a nearby park. After a coupleof hours, my husband was tired and wanted to go home, but I insisted that I had to finish the roll. This tree with its colorful skirt of leaves (which someone told me later was poison ivy) became this painting. |

Backyard Garden Every morning, my husband and I go for a walk after breakfast. If it happens to be sunny, I take my camera to see if there is anything in the neighborhood that would be good reference for a painting. This painting is from one of these walks. |
