| Porch With Pots of Pansies This street is part of a very picturesque town near where I live. I actually spotted this while driving by in my car. |
| Porch With Red Wicker Chairs Another porch that needed to be captured at exactly the right time of day and from the right position. Every morning, my husband and I take a walk and pass this house, always on the same side of the street. One day we decided to walk on the sidewalk across the street from this house and this perspective just seemed right. |
| Porch With Pots of Geraniums I've passed this house many times and liked the chair with the pillows on it but something seemed to be missing. One day I saw that the owners of this house had put out pots of geraniums on the steps. What's interesting is that no matter how many times you walk around the neighborhood, there's always something new that can be used for material for a new painting. |

| Porch With Green Bench This house is a few blocks from my home. The first time I passed it, I was intrigued by the contrast of the green bench and the red bricks as well as the contrast between the light and shadowed parts of the brick. However, it was almost noon and there was only a small amount of shadow going across the porch. I came back a few days later earlier in the morning, but the porch was completely in shadow which wasn't interesting at all. I came back a third time a little later in the morning and this painting is the result. |

| Weeping Cherry By the Veranda I passed this house last spring and was very interested in the pattern the rocking chairs made on the veranda. However, there was absolutely nothing on the lawn which could be the center of interest. Down the street, there was a beautiful weeping cherry tree with an uninteresting house behind it. To make this painting, I combined the interesting house and the interesting tree. |
| Porch With Basket Although I had taken photographs that day, I didn't think any of them would become a painting. I told myself, just go up one more block and then go home -- and there it was. |
| Two Pots of Geraniums I like this painting because of the different textures of red and the feeling of sunshine |
| Porch With Watering Cans As soon as I saw it, I thought to myself that this porch looked exactly like a still life painting. |
| Veranda What attracted me to this scene, was the way the lightmake the porch seem to glow. This is the first painting where I used a photograph taken with my new Olympus Stylus 140 camera. Because of its 140 mm telephoto lens, I was able to stand on the sidewalk and still have a clear view of the hanging plants. | |
| Victorian Rocking Chair There are many Victorian house in my area and many of them have this type of wicker furniture on their porch. I especially liked how the chair looked against the beautiful, formal doors, and the dappled look of the steps |
| Victorian Porch There is a lot of Victorian architecture in my area and I've always found this style very interesting. This is why parts of Victorian houses is a recurring theme in quite a few of my paintings. |
| Mums and Pumpkins Many of my neighbors decorate their stoops in the autumn with fall flowers and pumpkins. It puts everyone in the mood for Halloween and Thanksgiving. |
