In the Azalea Garden We have a very large park near me with many baseball fields, a running track, a lake with paddle boats and many flowers. One section is called the Azalea Garden where they have many beautiful bushes blooming in the spring. This painting shows a couple walking their dog and enjoying the azaleas. |

First Warm Day Everyone around here waits for the first warm day towards the end of winter. Our local park is filled with cyclists, joggers, walkers and various sports. Getting out the first time each spring always seems like the most fun. |

Girl Reading a Letter I saw these two children while my husband and I were walking around St. Georges Bermuda. There was a Palm tree in the original scene which I didn't like, so I took a tree from another one of my photos from Bermuda. I also changed the shape of the building in the back a little bit. Otherwise, this is pretty much what I though that day. |

Summer Afternoon on M Street The source for this painting is a street in Georgetown, Washington, DC. We were supposed to have gone on a canal boat ride nearby, but the ride was closed due to flooding. Instead we walked around the streets of Georgetown. |

Afternoon Stroll It was a lucky accident that the woman's skirt happened to match the awning. The woman on the bench reading the newspaper was not actually there. I took a photograph of her recently when I visited a botanical garden and added her because I felt that the painting needed an extra person. |

After Practice My family and I like to spend nice Sunday afternoons walking around the historic districts of local towns where I find I get a lot of interesting subject matter. The source for this painting is a nearby town of Burlington, New Jersey. Several times as we were walking around, local citizens stopped and took the time to share anecdotes from the history of their town. |

Window Shopping This scene is a street is Essex, Ct, a very charming little town. It was very interesting that several people were walking around with these very large poodles. For some reason, all the dogs in this town seemed very large. |

One Spring Morning The subject matter for this painting is a local park last spring. I was taking pictures of the trees when I noticed this group of people forming. First it was just the couple with the dogs, then the couple with the baby carriage and then the couple with the tricycle. I don't think that I could have found a more interesting group if I had posed them myself. |

Corner Restaurant This was taken in Fredericksburg, VA a wonderful place to take photographs and get painting ideas. I got to the street that had this restaurant just as it began to rain, but even without sunshine, I thought the colors and shapes were very interesting. |
